Software Engineering Intern (Fall 2018)

Rigor is hiring a Software Engineering intern to help us build the web performance platform for the next generation of web applications. As an engineering intern at Rigor, you will develop Proof Of Concepts (POCs) as well as production quality code.

Ideally, you:

  • Have experience building web applications
  • Are comfortable with the HTTP protocol and request/response cycle
  • Are familiar with object-oriented design and development
  • Are passionate about building large-scale, fault-tolerant software systems
  • Are familiar with test-driven development (TDD)
  • Are familiar with Git for version control

Our tech stack:

  • Application: Ruby/Rails, ASP.NET MVC, jQuery, Bootstrap, AngularJS, Selenium
  • Database: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, InfluxDB
  • Automation: Docker, Packer, Puppet, Capistrano
  • Infrastructure: AWS (EC2, S3, SQS, RDS, OpsWorks, CloudWatch, CloudFront, Route53), Heroku

A typical day at Rigor will involve:

  • Developing POCs for new product ideas
  • Learning new and interesting technologies
  • Research performance topics and best practices
  • Publishing documentation to address common technical questions
  • Communicating with the team over Slack about what’s getting done
